Word Scramble is a free daily word unscramble game where you rearrange jumbled letters to reveal hidden words. Each day brings 5 new scrambled words to solve — tap the letters in the correct order to unscramble them and earn points.
Earn 100 points per word, plus time bonuses for fast solves (under 10 seconds: +50, under 20 seconds: +25). Each hint used deducts 25 points from your final score. The maximum possible score is 750 points.
While both involve rearranging letters, a word scramble puzzle gives you jumbled letters to unscramble back into the original word. Anagram games ask you to form entirely new words from a set of letters. Our Word Scramble uses common 5-letter English words, making it accessible for all ages and skill levels.
Every puzzle is pre-generated, so we can study the whole archive at once: 674 daily sets of five 5-letter words, which works out to 3,370 scrambles built from 2,315 unique words. That word pool is the same length class as the classic Wordle answer list, so daily Scramble practice directly trains Wordle pattern recognition. Common bigrams (ER, IN, ST) and endings (-ER, -LY) are worth trying first when a scramble looks opaque.
The most reliable solving order we know: look for common endings first (-ED, -ER, -LY), then place the remaining letters around them. If you are still stuck, the Shuffle button rearranges the tiles, and a fresh visual order often triggers recognition.
Scoring is speed-based per round, and the share grid grades each round: ⚡ for solves under 10 seconds, then tiers down as you take longer. Hints exist but cost points. Each hint used subtracts 25 points from your final score, with at most 3 hints per game, and hints also draw from the 3 free daily hints shared across all our games (Premium removes the daily cap). So a fast, hint-free game is the only path to a top score. Our puzzle methodology and editorial standards are documented on the about page.
